United & Delta Airlines provides air service from Los Angeles to San Diego, and the 40- minute flights conveniently run every half hour from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. Both airlines have counter-to-counter service. Counter-to-counter packages are allowed to weight up to 100 lbs. and no more than a combination width, length and height of 90”. Shipments must be dropped off one hour prior the schedule flight departure and may be picked up at destination one hour after flight arrival. Another option is Southwest Airlines (1 800 533 1222) it offers 3 distinct cargo services: Next Flight (30 minutes prior flight) , Rush (priority freight product) and Freight (on a space-available basis). The maximum weight of any simple package is 150 pounds and it may not exceed 90 total inches. Packages must arrive 30 minutes before the flight.
